Open letter to Financial Planners and Brokers

Today I’d like to talk to all the financial planners, brokers and insurance agents out there. But I want our readers to see what I have to say to them too, and if your financial advisors are not already part of Treoc’s service network, I’d like to ask that you forward this letter to them.

You may have noticed that Treoc has undergone a metamorphosis over the last few months. We no longer have Treoc-branded service providers. For the past few months already, the Treoc Platinum Club has been making use of independent service providers. Although the old Treoc companies are still providing services, they are no longer the only ones, and they don’t provide their services under the Treoc brand anymore. They are now merely Treoc-accredited service providers, just like any other independent service provider.

Treoc Risk Managers, our former financial planning company, no longer exists. The intention behind shutting down Treoc Risk was, amongst other things, to make our services more easily accessible to the public. Also, we realised that whilst we can’t expand our infrastructure to every corner of the land, there are already professional Treocians in every corner who can offer these services. We also realised that our members often prefer to continue using the services of their old family advisors, and over the years many of our members have brought their advisors along to our seminars. But we also found that these advisors felt threatened by the presence of Treoc Risk Managers and the possibility that they could lose their clients. Since it is important to us that all financial service providers who support our methods should feel welcome and safe with us, we decided not to compete with them at all and instead to focus on building good relationships with the brokerage industry from now on. We don’t want to do anything that may drive them away from us. We believe that this is what will be most beneficial for the clients we share, and what is good for our members is good for us.

The one service function that we haven’t disposed of and that is still directly under Treoc’s control is our trust services. Today the Treoc Group is almost certainly the biggest administrator of inter vivos trusts in South Africa. There are very few trusts in the country that don’t have at least one Treocian as a trustee. We can also say proudly that Treoc Trusts have withstood the onslaught of the recession very successfully.
